They eventually realized that the best cuts of meat also offered the best bones, and they just couldn't keep dogs away from such a quality product.  Discovering a new type of customer also meant they were able to reduce waste, which appealed to the Jones family's sense of responsibility as business owners. Dog chews began to take over the family butcher shop and in 1991, the creation of Jones Natural Chews made the expansion into dog chews and treats official.
