Who is Morales Ventures?
Morales Ventures is a hands-on operating partner for pet food and treat brands. Founded by Javier Morales, the company exists to give growing brands access to experienced operating leadership and an industry network, without the overhead of adding another executive.
Javier built his career inside pet food operations, not behind a desk. Over more than 17 years, he led sourcing, supplier development, manufacturing support, cold-chain fulfillment, inventory, systems, and cross-functional execution inside a scaling national pet food business. He has visited more than 100 farms and processing facilities, sat across the table from co-manufacturers during line trials, and been the person responsible when a shipment had to move, a supplier missed, or a plant needed to be qualified fast. That experience is the foundation of everything Morales Ventures does.
What We Focus On
Morales Ventures organizes its work around four core problems that growing pet food brands run into.
Co-Manufacturing Strategy and Scale-Up. Finding, vetting, testing, and onboarding the right manufacturing partner, from defining requirements through facility visits, line trials, packaging fit, and transition planning.
Strategic Sourcing and Cost Optimization. Building a stronger supply base across proteins, ingredients, packaging, and logistics, with RFQs, landed-cost modeling, and primary and backup supplier strategies that typically uncover 5-12% COGS reduction opportunities.
Fractional COO and Operational Leadership. Senior operating capacity on demand: SOPs, KPIs, purchasing and inventory discipline, demand planning, and hands-on execution for brands that have outgrown their current structure.
Raw Material Supply and Protein Brokerage. Access to conventional and specialty proteins through a vetted network of processors and farms, with contracted supply, documentation, and cold-chain logistics support.

Real Operating Experience
In a prior operating leadership role, Javier helped open four regional fulfillment hubs, moving roughly 80 percent of deliveries to next-day service, eliminating 3 to 4 day shipments, and reducing refrigerant use and product damage. He also built a structured supplier approval program using on-site inspections, audit review, and primary and secondary supplier ranking to strengthen continuity and purchasing leverage.

He works directly with ownership, operations, quality, purchasing, and co-manufacturers, and brings in specialized partners when a project needs additional technical depth. The work is direct, practical, and built for execution, not just advice. Morales Ventures stays involved from diagnosis through supplier approval, trial, transition, and stabilization.
